Ingredients and spices that need to be prepared to make Samak Chawal Kheer..(Barnyard Millet Milk Pudding):

  1. 1 ltr full cream milk,
  2. 1/4 cup samak Chawal, washed, soaked in water for 1 hour,
  3. 1/2 cup sugar powder (accordingly),
  4. 1/2 tsp elaichi powder,
  5. 4 drops kewra water,
  6. 5 badam,
  7. 7 kaju & very few kishmish,
  8. 1 tbsp desi ghee for frying,

  1. Take a deep bottom pan, add milk, boil it.
  2. Keep boiling on low flame until a lil thick.
  3. Strain chawal, add in the milk, cook it at low flame for 10 minutes.
  4. In goes sugar, elaichi powder & kewra water, mix it well. Cook it until a lil thick.
  5. Turn off the flame, transfer it into a bowl. Keep aside.
  6. Take a pan, add ghee, fry nuts until light brown. Take out in a bowl.
  7. Garnish kheer with these nuts.
  8. All cooking has been done on low flame.
